THE US DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY INVITES PORELOGIX TO JOIN P.A.C.E IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF ALGAE BIOFUELS
Omaha, Neb. (03/05/2018) – Porelogix Ultrafiltration Systems has been invited by the Department of Energy to join its P.A.C.E (Producing Algae Coproducts and Energy) program.
PACE along with its partners have been tasked by the DOE to produce algae-based biofuels for less than $5 per gasoline gallon equivalent by 2019. Widely recognized as one of the barriers, the algae dewatering process is very inefficient and energy intensive. Porelogix aims to change that by providing one of its harvesting systems for a 3-month study at its outdoor testing facility at AzCATI (Arizona Center for Algae Technology & Innovation).
Started in 2016 and headquartered at Los Alamos National Labs in New Mexico the PACE program is leading the industry in advanced algal systems research and development.
